How to create a strong password easily

Came across this website which made me realise how easy it is to create a strong password with something like this.

http://www.passwordchart.com/

Create your phrase to use to generate the key. Redo it weekly/monthly and use it to generate safe passwords by using the a word you can't forget as the password etc, which changes as you change the phrase. See keep same password but change it

For example it turns "password" into "R6yVbVb6VUWe6" this month by using "March 2009" as my phrase, but change it to "April 2009" and your new "password" is "Di6BJJGr^9q764"

Re: How to create a strong password easily

Pretty cool. I only have two passwords like that. Banking and main admin account at work.

Re: How to create a strong password easily

ooh that will look important on the yellow sticky note on my monitor at work so I can remember it in the morning. In our infinite wisdom I need 1 password to log in, 1 for the main frame, 2 for the maintenance system 1 to enter data the other to change data entered incorrectly, another for the supply ordering system, another 2 for sister companies systems and they all have to be different and over 8 characters combining letters and numbers changed every 60 days on different schedules and can't be repeated for 6 months. I'm running out of room around the outside monitor I'm thinking of using that as an excuse in the request for a bigger one.

God, that is so true. We have a "higher up" who does this. The password is her name...

Re: How to create a strong password easily

I wonder if someone is logging the passwords being created on the site. If I were a malicious person, I would make such a thing available free to the public...

I doubt it...you cant say whether the person is just playing around or whatever...or where it will be used...pretty random...
