The new i7 cores

Has anyone purchased one of these screamin' fast CPUs yet? I plan on upgrading this year and I'm currently using a LGA775 core, and from what I understand the i7 will have a 1033 socket. Now, what I really want to know is will 775 heatsinks be able to fit on to 1033 motherboards such as Rampage II? I was thinking up picking up this then do a bit of overclocking.

Re: The new i7 cores

Haven't got one myself, but definitely looking at getting one.
I think you mean socket 1366. Anyway, I don't think that Zalman will fit. It doesn't list 1366 as compatible.

You could get this. Then you could use the 9700 on your shiny new i7.

Re: The new i7 cores

Very nice, I hadn't thought of looking for this, thanks for the bit of info. Blame the typo on lack of sleep, been awake for 20+ hours today :P
