haha. I've heard of most of those. Coldplay is a bit overrated, but a few good bands in there otherwise. If we want to go REALLY obscure, I've got 581 artists to choose from

I sometimes find stuff on shuffle mode that I didn't even remember I had

(I've even bought CDs twice because of that... No returns on opened CDs...

)

Haven't heard of Mute Math?

Must listen... Look for a live video of Reset and/or Typical.

chicago, boston, supertramp, abba, bob segar, grand funk, air supply (I really hate admitting this one), pink floyd, the eagles, lynyrd skynyrd

Wanna hear something funny...In the 80's, I watched a concert where Bon Jovi opened for Ratt!!! It was wild. Zero 7 and Hooverphonic are great btw!

Yes, this is a good list... but, Air Supply? Hey, we all have those secret bands we love. I mean I love to listen to music from the 1940's and classical, especially when I am stressed, that classical station must come out.

Great list and I love Nada Surf and bands like that from the early to mid 90's. Remember the song, "Popular?" I used to play that over and over and always thought that would be a good song for a movie like Heathers or Jawbreakers. Offspring is very good too. Thanks for the list. You know one band I missed...THE CULT!. I can't believe I forgot that.

I have to admit, I'm not even 100% sure about my top 10

keep wanting to switch a few around. I love my music, and although it is wrong, i have to admit to a lot of "illegal mp3s". However, i do buy a lot of original music, so i don;t feel bad... i buy about 4-5 originals per month on average, but if i didnt get mp3's there would be a lot of music i would never be exposed to. My originals amount to about 1000 or so... I grew up in the 90's listening to what in my opinion are some of the greatest bands ever...but then i had a brother who loved the 70's & 80's stuff so i have a suprising high amount for someone my age. So my musical interests range from the 70s-recent stuff.
I am partial to the 90's and 00's tho as this has been my era. I suppose we are all partial to our era's music and will probably defend the hell out of it.
I on the other hand look at music as music. As long as it gives me some sort of happiness i will listen to it, despite of genre, era, popularity...
