Save your pounds and buy the components on Ebay.

Well, England hasn't switched to the Euro (not yet at least)

But anyway, I know the feeling ... I have personally helped many of my rich(ish) friends get such superb PCs - the kind I dream of. And I'm still stuck with my old PC.
What gets me sometimes is when I realize how much they really don't know about PCs. Like one was asking the other day, how to make IE start at the page he wants not MSN!!!

Or this other guy who would come back after leaving the PC on for sometime (which would make it go into stanby eventually) and complain how his Monitor doesn't work until he has to restart .. can't he just shake his mouse.

Anyway, I better stop here.

Ciao for now :)

Let us hope England never goes to the euro. But that is a rant for another thread and one I don't think many of the non British members would care about.

You can get a pretty top notch machine for around £800. Now, that is a fair whack to some, but if you get it from the right place without any rubbish software/random hardware bundles then the core components can be superb. A few months of saving a little of ones income can happily purchase a custom built machine from a decent local computer shop (one which is also an IT support business, not the high street retail ones). Shop around and see what you can get for your hard earned cash.

Stay away from FLEAbay and Ebuyer.uk

Both are a good place to get ripped off.

well you can finance comps now but seeing as how the best comp cost abouit as much as a used car, when i get my job i'll probably go for that instead.

in a year or so the new line of procesors and stuff will be in any way so don't worrie bout it.

My System

I am happy with the new computer that i got that is just good, not really much higher, but then there are other people how buy the best computer there is to just have the best to have the best and show off. This bothers my because the computers they probly get rid of when they get a new one is probly better than wut i will have in a couple years.
I dont want to know a new line of processors will be out soon (even though everyone knows this), with this i can never catch up to what the best computers have because if i ever get closer there is something new and better.
