Invisibility cloak closer than ever to reality
An invisibility cloak for visible light could be made within six months, say scientists from Duke University, who, in a new paper published today in Science, explain how to hide objects from a dramatically extended range of wave lengths.
"I think that within six months it's certainly viable [a cloak for visible light]," said David Smith, a professor at Duke University and author of the Science paper. "A large number of folks are looking at it, and I think it's a matter of coupling the right material to the right device." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28679694/

Re: Invisibility cloak closer than ever to reality
Jason, please don't practice this technology on TSF!
......keep looking, it's here somewhere LOL ..... my husband and even a couple of his friends swear I have this ability (to activate my cloaking device). I love the look on their faces when they don't know I am standing right there and finally "see" me! rofl Last edited by Cathy95820; 01-16-2009 at 10:10 AM. |

Re: Invisibility cloak closer than ever to reality
I've been invisible for a long time. I must be since clerks regularly look at the person behind me and say, "Next?" And when I'm clearly waiting my turn for something, people will just step in as if there's no one else there. (don't get me started on automobile drivers)
