I seem to remember another thread like this, but I thought it was another forum - someone else posted the above clip, and I posted one of an F-16 that lost a wing in a collision, and still made a safe landing.

All pilots are required to practice emergency landings (by turning off the engines and gliding; not too dangerous actually), but I doubt any flight instructor would prepare his students for this!
