Has anyone used a Plextor PX-716A DVD Burner

I am in the market for a new DVD burner, as my current one (A Maddog rebadged Artec drive) is a piece of junk. Best Buy has a Plextor 16X dual layer 16x dvd writer for $129. I know Plextor used to be good in the past, but I have never seen them at a retail establishment before, only for sale online. I am worried that Plextor may be dumping these drives at Best Buy and they may not be as good as their drives in the past, but I have nothing to base it on. Any help or recommendations on a good burner would be greatly appreciated.

My System

I've had many plextor drives over the years, all bought retail, never had a single problem with any of them. Currently I have 3 plextor drives among my various rigs. I don't think you have to worry about buying a retail plextor dvdrw from bestbuy, the warenty is the same ( not that you'll need it)

Thanks

Thanks for the information twajetmech. After reading other various reviews on the internet, I found that if you have the latest hardware and firmware (TLA # 0202), the drive works well. Evidently, the earlier drives supposedly had some issues. I pulled the trigger last weekend and bought it as Plextor is currently offering a $30 rebate on their website. I have burned 4 DVDs and one CD flawlessly and have experienced no problems whatsoever. I am new to the DVD burning world and am still reading up on PlexTools to test if a burn was a "good one", but so far so good!
