2,000 year old computer revived.....

Watch a working model of the ancient clockwork device that some call the world's first computer.

Technically, I don't think it's a computer, as it can't be programmed as such, but it's still an amazing bit of 2,00 year-old tech....

I'm trying to remember the channel I watched that featured this device. What I saw were the pieces that were found and not the reproduced model. Still, very interresting.

Those are the types of programming I watch.

I too tend to prefer documentary or 'educational' programs, rather than the usual mindless drivel that's mostly shown - unless it's a good sci-fi or fantasy film

Re: 2,000 year old computer revived.....

I know all to well about the usual drivel on TV. We do get BBC America here in the Colonies, but when they censored Monty Python I quit watching... I'm waiting for them to air Fawlty Towers.

Still waiting for Hammer Films to release some more goodies. Don't see that happening soon....drat. "Creatures the World Forgot" would be nice on DVD. I won't hold my breath.

I love the educational programs.... most are BBC origin. American comedy gets on my nerves.

Anyhow, the greek puter is interresting..... and other things that modern society has problems with in trying to explain.
