Is that your last name in the last pic. But I agree with Fox, each pic is different, not really but just enough. Oh, and this is top secret for your eyes only (you need to shave) the last pic gives it away if you zoom in.
wait, in that 2nd to last pic, is your head shaved and you have a mowhawk? that ain't cool for a marine. in tx, the headbangers have mowhawks, and some emo's, and some cool people, only like 2 of the coolest guys have em like yours, and a few of the outcasts have them. I got a "mohawk".. But the sides ain't completely shaved.. They're just buzzed short.. Most of those pictures are fairly old anyhows..
And.. Yeah.. Shaving can be a pain in the butt.. Especially when you're* addicted to computers..Sarkast is right. The Rag Chewer's Award is an Amateur Radio award. >KC2HEX< is my radio callsign. If you google it, you can come across sites like www.qrz.com that will give you my full name, my address, a map to my house, and whole bunch of other info.

In the picture was a Kenwood TS570D, an Icom IC-207H, a Ranger RCI-5054, and RadioShack 10 mtr. transceiver. We've changed alot around and gotten more equipment. I should take an up-to-date picture one of these days.
If you don't have a Technician class license in the U.S. already, why don't you get one? You could probably walk in and pass without any problems, and you probably wouldn't need to study at all.

I thought about it. But the thing is for one they never have any exams close around - seems i have to drive at least 100 miles. And my only real interest was shortwave - especially the higher bands 15, 12, 10 where its not as easy to get around the globe. With the solar minimum now in effect i might aswell wait a few more years. But I still have a 12/10m HB9CV, longwire and my FT-100 so i can listen now and then.....

A quick google search turned this up:
http://www.arrl.org/hamradio.html I got into it because my grandfather was a radio enthusiast and my father SWL (licenced shortwave listener).

If I remember correctly, knowing morse is an absolute must for amateur radio. Shortwave is full spectrum audio (SSB broadcasts carry amateur messages alongside the normal transmission).
I one time took some interest in amateur radio, but not enough to buy any equipment or do any meaningful research into it... So when you sit down at your transmitter, what do you do? Oh wow small world...in one of those pictures, you see a Commodore 64, which I was once really into. In another, there's a little girl wearing a the same model of Grado headphones (SR-60's) that I just bought a couple of months ago. Amazing headphones... Last edited by Fox; 05-25-2005 at 01:32 PM. |
