Technical Support Question!
18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from DrinkingMates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble.
However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as LadsNightOut 3.1, FootballMatch 4.3, and Playboy 6.9. Successive versions of GirlFriend proved no better. I tried a shareware program, Slapper 2.1, but it had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks. Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each other they caused severe damage to my hardware. I eventually upgraded to Fiance 1.0, only to discover that this product soon had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0. While Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeSexPlus and Cleanhouse2005. Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 could be very unstable and costly to run. Any mistakes I made were automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted. They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about them. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary, Explorer and E-mail filter, and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and Multi-Whinge. These latter products have no Help files, and I have to try To guess what the problem is. Additional problems are that Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly, requiring ShoeShop Browser for new attachments and Hairstyle Express which needs to be reinstalled every other week. Also, When Wife 1.0 attaches itself to my Saab 93 Convertible hard drive, it often crashes. Wife 1.0 also comes with an irritating pop-up called MotherInLaw, which can't be turned off. Recently I've been tempted to install Mistress 2003, but there could be problems. A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that if Wife1.0 detects Mistress 2003; it tends to delete all of your Money before uninstalling itself. Help requested please ?

Re: Technical Support Question!
The Celibacy series doesn't work. When early versions of wife detect anything in the Celibacy series it is likely to run Seduction 1.1. At first this sounds like fun, but once it's drained your resources, it'll ask for additional subroutines that usually cost a lot of money. The later versions of Wife are slightly more stable, but tend to not care if Celibacy is running or not, as long as Celibacy extends to Mistress, Nights Out, and any other similar applications.
Working Woman 1.1 seems to have mixed reviews. Depending on the career level, several bundled applications could be de-activated. Particularly Home Cooked Meal, Vacuuming, Dusting, and Dish Washing. If you don't mind having to remember to run those applications manually every once in a while, Working Woman might be what you're looking for. The other option is Working Mother. This comes bundles with sequential child processes which can be very time consuming for a while, but if you concentrate on training and dicipline, they will handle some of the applications that Working Woman won't do. For those who have not yet replaced Drinking Buddies, and are looking for a more indepth application, check out Friends With Benefits. While it doesn't come with FreeSexPlus, it does have a slightly less robust version. Also, it doesn't handle anything in the CleanHouse series, but does have a ShareWare add on called HelpUClean. You have to put a little effort (I recommend DinnerAndMovie) to activate HelpUClean, and you have to interact with HelpUClean, it's usually much less stressful than dealing with all of the hidden processes that tag along with the Wife series.

Re: Technical Support Question!
Isn't that provided by the Wife Series in extreme circumstances such as when Mistress 2003 has been installed?

Re: Technical Support Question!
You need therapy 560.4 (still miffy) and women's C++ programming 8.0. A liberal dosage of damm you wife 1.0 and a dash of "If I go to far you can have my credit card" 1.0 but then you uninstall that program while she's trying to use it remotely

Re: Technical Support Question!
I'd only worry once she indicates that she's running a child spawn process.
I installed Girlfriend 1.0 on a friend of mine about a year ago and despite some small issues (Twin-Sister 2.0, FamilyTime5, and Midol Monster 12) things are still good between us. In fact, I've a mind to upgrade her to Wife 2.0 and myself to Husband 1.0 this winter.

Re: Technical Support Question!
I found that girlfriend 1.0 was not quite right in the hard drive, girlfriend 2.0 lacked an emotional subroutine and girlfriend 3.0 lacked a maturity subroutine. I have recently upgraded to girlfriend 4.0 and most of the bugs seemed to be ironed out, unfortunately there still seems to be a bug in the "decision making skills" subroutine but that seems to be a common problem with all products in the girlfriend series!

Re: Technical Support Question!
I can't remember what version I'm running, but it's higher than 4.0, however, that bug with the decision making subroutine seems to overwrite my own environment space, no matter how many times I reiterate the permissions set on it. Does anyone know if that's going to be fixed one day?

Re: Technical Support Question!
from my experience Rhort, its a problem dating way back, I think the programmers may have found it hard to correct. As girlfriend is starting to become more and more independant and not needing the boyfriend prerequisite program, I believe they will have no choice but to write a decision making subroutine into its code

If all else fails, you can always un-install everything and try the new Hermit v1.0

Re: Technical Support Question!
We can add "Catching illnesses 1.0" to the list of malware that comes bundled with the girlfriend software! Should I go post in the General Security forum for a solution?

Re: Technical Support Question!
Not if the malware had not been seen before as it seems this one had not!

Re: Technical Support Question!
I don't run any of the girlfriend series, my hardware simply won't support it. But I can run wife.1984 v1 flawlessly.
I will say this from observing friends try to up grade from the girlfriends series to the wife series; the program swells tremendously almost as soon as its installed.
