Re: My new bike.

I can see why you didn't go to the 'Calstock Custom Harley Show' last month, the puddles and mud would have reached over the wheel-rims and ruined the gleams and glints

It's certainly a neat looking bike though, are you planning any mods to it?

Re: My new bike.

No. It's already modded. It's a limited edition. Take the classic chopper looks of a Wide-Glide and then let the Harley-Davidson CVO group let their imaginations run wild and what do you get? The 2002 Dyna Wide Glide FXDWG3! This is a custom in every sense of the word. It is also a limited edition bike (approx. 1950 Units produced & only 6 came to the UK). The FXDWG3 includes accessories you can only find on a Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycle. These custom features include a chrome fuel tank console (created especially by Harley-Davidson design king Willie G Davidson); a custom leather and ostrich skin seat and pillion; chrome floating brake discs; and lowered front and rear suspension. Dripping with chrome and speciality parts. Unique windshield/console with the FXDWG3 designator. This Wide Glide has it all and says it with style!! Custom paint work on the bike includes a colour-matched frame with hot-rod style flames that stretch across the fairing, tank and back fender. The FXDWG3 was produced in two colour schemes. This one is Black with Gold Leaf Flames trim with black leather and ostrich skin seat. It is factory stock except for the Stage 1 Screaming Eagle Pipes and Screaming Eagle Racing Carburetor for that extra bite we all like when we turn the throttle and lean into it! This bike is like new with just over 5000 well cared for miles on it. Rarely used it's been garaged & SORN for over 2 years after having it's 5000 miles service (though turned over regularly). Includes two key fobs, Factory Repair Manual, CVO cover sheet, rear seat support with HD Badge and fitted single chrome luggage rack, inc. full service history . A beautiful bike & a real head turner ... so you better get yourself in the seat quickly because it won't last long. Factory Specs Include the following, .Silver and Chrome, Twin Cam 88TM 1450cc, Power Train .Color-matched Frame, Headlight Fairing and Chin Fairing .Leather Seat and Pillion Featuring Genuine Ostrich Inserts .Battery Box, Electrical Box, and Coil Cover; All Painted to Match .Full Length Chrome Fuel Tank Console with Silver Speedometer Gauge Face .Air Cleaner, Timer and Derby Covers with "Harley-Davidson" Lettering .LightningstarTM Rear Belt Sprocket .Chrome Lightningstar Custom Wheels .H-D@ Factory Security System with Siren .Teardrop Floating Brake Rotors (front & rear) .Silver Brake Calipers (front & rear) .ProfileTM Low Rear Shocks with Chrome Cups .Lowered Chrome Front Fork Assembly with Chrome Billet Fork Dust Seal Covers and Chrome Sliders .Chrome Brake and Clutch Levers .Rear Axle Tensioner Chrome Covers .Chrome Handlebar .Blllet-style Wide-band- Hand grips, Foot Pegs, Chrome Billet Brake Pedal Pad' and shifter Peg .Chrome Front Axle Nut Cover Kit .Chrome Billet-style Brake and shifter Levers with Chrome Mounting Brackets .Chrome Billet Shift Linkage .Chrome Billet Twin Cam 88 Mirrors .Rear Turn Signal Standoff Design with Bullet-style Turn Signals (front & rear) .Chrome Lower Belt Guard .Chrome slash-cut Mufflers with Full Chrome Muffler Shields .Chrome Left-hand Passenger Foot Peg Support

Re: My new bike.

Nice, John. That machine doesn't look stock to me, WereBo. Just at a quick glance (has to be quick - my sunglasses aren't handy at the moment LOL), the pipes, grips, sissy bar and rack, little fairing above the light, paint, and even Harleys don't arrive stock with that much chrome! Also, that front wheel looks great, and I've never seen an air cleaner quite like that.

Had this ready to go, and then couldn't post - I think the site rejected my little dissertation for a few minutes. LOL

Congrats to you John, on your excellent taste. Oh, and I think WereBo is right: you need the tassles! LOL

Oops, can't edit. Sorry for the double post, but just noticed that the tassle suggestion wasn't WereBo's but Jack's. Still a great idea. lol

Very nice - I doubt if you'll actually have time to ride it as you'll be spending all your time polishing the chrome...

Fortunately I've got a mate who loves nothing better than polishing my bikes on the road so that he can chat the girls up as they go past.

I wouldn't mind T-bars. I've got them on my Virago. Incidentally my first big bike was a Triumph Thruxton Tiger 100 - faster than the standard Bonneville.

Re: My new bike.

I just hope he doesn't go overboard and put some of those "trainers" on the back too!

have you been far on it yet John .. or is it just a good weather bike ? My brotrher tells me that the weather in the UK has been atrocious ( just slightly worse than usual) this summer ..

Re: My new bike.

I only got it yesterday but I did ride it from Telford, about 70 miles. The guy that had it before was obviously a fair weather biker. I don't know how I'm going to be able to keep it as shiny as I ride 24/7.
