sneaker hacking
But that's nothing. Today, reports New Scientist, Apple has applied for a patent to - no joke - extend digital rights management to tennis shoes and other articles of clothing
http://www.roughtype.com/archives/20...e_declares.php I just had to sneaker over this one. Personally I think its carrying the drm thing too far. They want to pair the electronic gadget to a specific article of clothing and you would in violation if you were to use that gadget on non authorized piece of clothing. I wonder if it means eventually apple will come out with a clothing line where if you want to use their ipod, iphone or whatever, you must be wearing their clothes.

Re: sneaker hacking
So, what would happen if you matched the wrong articles together? Would buttons refuse to fasten, or shoelaces lock up while trying to tie them? Perhaps your sunglasses will have a 'BSOD' appear across the lenses.

Re: sneaker hacking
Thi is just stupid! Apple is all big-headed 'cause they came out with some crap that somehow managed to sell madly.

Re: sneaker hacking
That's what I've been trying to say for a long time... until the iPod came out, Apple was barely staying in business through college contracts and the occasional PC sale. But, because they had a successful marketing campaign for their MP3 player, they have been on the come-back and it's going to their heads. Just look at the "Hi, I'm Apple... and I'm a PC. Apple is so much better than PC" ads.
