Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
They put it up then took it down again quickly. Hopefully it will be up at some point today if not tomorrow.

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
Looking forward to this, I hate IE because its slow and has problems. I hate firefox because its tab system doesn't work like IE7s. I hope that this browser will be the solution my problems.

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
IE tab system is stolen from firefox, as most of the newer IE features that were in the firefox many years ago.
I wonder what sneaky tricks this google browser will have hidden in it. Google already track what you search thru their engine so their browser will probly track what sites you go on and everything. |

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
be sure to read the terms of use...
see this article http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-10...html?tag=mncol Personally I do not plan to use it. I do not trust google and their doubleclick division. Its nothing but adware.

Excellent feature in Chrome, you don't need tool bar or even go to google.com for a search : I found the new feature : Address bar is acting as google tool search and Address bar , is a very neat feature, is there any other web browser that has the same feature?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRqmfCFU_AI

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
This is being posted via Chrome
Feels very compact, but the lack of the menu bar scares me a bit :S dunno why, never use it in FF. (it's got a built in spell checker as I've just found out). Loads times are slower than FF IMO, Might explore it for a bit more but I think I'll be sticking with FF. *Disregard the menu bar comment, I found it *

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
I tried it earlier today. I would say it would be a decent browser (assuming somebody ports adblock plus to it) for integrated apps and for grandparents. It's absolutely not a replacement for firefox - at least, not yet, and not for everyday use.
It also had a very strange look & feel. Scrolling was way off, and the rendering seems like it could use some work.

FF is faster than Chrome On my laptop with Vista premium: FF and chrome are equal , and both faster than IExplorer. I am sure the product has still a long way to go.

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
I don't want auto-update service running 24/7
C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update solution: Start > Run > msconfig > Startup Tab > Uncheck Google Update This is interesting .... Google Chrome SunSpider benchmark results http://kourge.net/node/122

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
downloaded it, used it for a couple of hours but have decided it is not as good as FF.
I know its only a beta but it did not log me straight into tsf (unlike FF), it did not log me into spiceworks automatically (network monitoring software we use here based on a server) and most importantly it would not open the java applet we have to put our login details into to gain access to the Internet. All in all, a bit dissapointed and I certainly believe it won't stop Mozilla from catching up with IE. By the way: I recently installed IE8 beta, still nowhere near as good as FF!!!

Re: Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project
Downloaded it on the computer at work, I'm lovin' it! No more Firefox for me, except I'm disappointed that there's no Linux version so that means I'm stuck with Firefox at home.
I used to be a huge firefox fan, but I was very disappointed with FF3. Especially at work, our computers aren't particularly state-of-the-art, and FF3 was a major slowdown. I like open spaces, sleek and clean layouts. That's just what Chrome is. I love it I love it I love it. Did I mention that I love it?
