Comparison Report

Hey guys, didnt know where else to put this... Basically I need some information. I'm compiling a little report on the average time people spend waiting for an older computer to load up and execute programs and such, vs. a newer, faster computer. If anyone has any information that could help me (average usage times, etc.) it would be much appreciated ^^

Thanks, this definitely helps. I'm looking for more in the way of averages pertaining to the time one would spend waiting on programs to load or do their job as well. That's the really important part =)

I remember using a 386 machine and waiting 2 minutes plus for MS Word V2 to open

I had a Mac Plus boot to the desktop in less time then it takes to blink.

don't know how much of an exaggeration that is, but tests show that macs do boot several times faster than PC's of similar size. i actually used to have an old mac (from the early 90's) that i picked up at a yard sale for free, but discarded it soon after. that one booted in about 20s.
