Well lets see that site now values it at $4,004,010 while http://www.dnscoop.com/ values it at $5,227,320. A bit of a difference there. Unless some huge company comes in, I highly doubt I would get 1/2 of that. In the end its only valued at what someone is willing to pay for it.

Until then I will be forced to keep my UPS job though.

Its' got to be based on the potential to sell ad space. What they don't know is those of us who are registered users don't see any ads.

Also: this is a pretty net savvy group, right. Anyone remember any ad on any web site that caused you to buy anything?

Ad potential is a funny thing though. I've talked to some webmasters who consider me crazy because I don't run audio ads, pop-unders/pop-ups, in-text ads and other things that pay much more.

Its just like how some people value a website. Some go by multiplying the average monthly income by so many months or years. Some will look at the stats of the site and how much they think it should earn. While others will look at everything, stats, income, etc...

I think despite the site pushing my knowledge of servers and jelsofts software without custom modifying it, we have done well though. I still have the cookies set to only 15 minutes, while I see larger and/or older sites upping theirs 30-60 minutes to help look busier. I think right now the problem is we are too busy.
