I had to click the "I'll never use it". But it might be real handy for them Winderz users. Google says they value you're privacy but, I wonder how long before this becomes someones spyware/security problem. If it runs in windows it's vulnerable. And this looks so convenient since it indexes so much, almost like a special FAT.

I installed it, gave it a run, then I had a system glitch and it was immediately corrupted.

So I said, "How much do you want this"? The answer was, I really don't have that much around here that I need to index it all. So I uninstalled it.

For some, it's going to be a big help. For me....naw.

BTW, I seriously doubt that the security problems will be all that significant. Most folks that will use GD will be fairly aware, and protect their systems, at least a bit. However, if anyone with the GD doesn't notice several MBs of data being downloaded off their machine, they probably deserve what they get.

It's a good product, if it doesn't corrupt easily and crash a lot.

Their is no undecided in your poll. What is the purpose of d/l a program that already exists in your windows? Can it really be that much better? I love google but I have not d/l this yet. I need to know what this can do that windows can't.

it isn't for downloading files from your own computer...

it is for when you can't find a file.

another example is if you have 2000 text files, and you want to figure out which one has the words "cease and desist" or something specific, it will come back and point it out.

it uses google's symantic cache system, so it does searches in milliseconds based off of earlier scans.

(rather than wait 10 minutes for it to actually read each file)
