Re: Has TSF Helped you?

I know next to nothing about computers, and posting here has resulted in quick replies from extremely helpful members who don't mind putting "computer speak" into layman's terms. Thanks to everyone. This is a great site.

Re: Has TSF Helped you?

The first time it was a bad virus attack; this time driver conflicts disabled my computer. 1972vet resolved it forthwith. TSF does a fabulous job and I have donated once again.

hats off

I have had two incidents in the past 6 months that I thought were unsolvable and TSF experts saved the machines, drives and data. Glaswegian and Chemist were both excellent in guiding me through cleaning malware from the drives. It was not only helpful but educational and inspiring. Great work and wonderful service. I am very grateful.

Re: Has TSF Helped you?

I want to express my gratitude to this website for that the problem mentioned in this post:

[SOLVED] Autoconfiguration IP address

has been troubling me for days and I have been searching in my native-speaking pages for days all along, and the solution provided here is the most original and productive one I have ever found, thus makes this website excellent in worlds of both languages.

Thank you!

I would like to express my gratitude for TSF too. If it wasn't for TSF I wouldn't have my MVP status and I would be annoying my friends a lot more, just desperate to fix things.

Re: Has TSF Helped you?

I go to several forums during the day for info, and to give any help I can. {mostly}
I find obscure technical datum that is not in the realm of "tech support" at the likes of HP, Lexmark, etc.. I have 15 yrs of printer repair, {I specialize in high end color} and a lot of the little quirks that happen get figured out by the kind of people that subscribe on this site, as well as TechTips, PrinterTechs, and fixyourownprinter.
I pass along any tips and tricks I have learned, and figured out myself.
Tip: If you are not a mechanic/tool user, get the extended warranty!

Source: About Us

Tech Support Forum is a non-profit site that offers computer support for members for free. The site is financed solely out of pocket by the site owner, donations and advertising. The site caters to people of all ages. That is why we strive to keep Tech Support Forum a family orientated site. We have also grown into other support areas, such as automotive. We have quickly become the spot to come to for support on many issues, and are still growing.

Our support is provided by our wonderful crew of volunteers who are willing to give their time and knowledge to help others. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, with knowledge on many subjects. They come here of their own free will, as they are not paid for their generous efforts. The owner of the site would like to say that everyone treats each other with respect.

Tech Support Forum was started in early 2001 as ezdrivers.com. In 2002 we changed to our current name TechSupportForum.com. For a little bit of fun, check out how we used to look in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Tech Support Forum is a privately owned company. We are not tied to any company or organization. It is felt that this way we can provide quality support for any product without being biased. The site may have people helping out who work for other companies though. We have had support people from Yahoo, Dell and other large companies helping out on the site. But it is important to remember that we are not part of any other company.

Tech Support Forum is made up from all types of people in all types of professions. They come here to share one goal. To provide quality and friendly support. Some may hold a degree or two or more in various technology fields, some just have worked in the business for years, and yet some may just be hobbyists. They all come for the community though.

Besides offering support we offer friendly chat, whither it is tech related, gaming, or other non-computer chat. A lot of users have made great friends and valued relationships here. Some users have even gathered to join forces with their computer in the fight against things like cancer. Most of all though, we all like to have fun while providing support.

Every year our site grows, both in terms of number of members, and in its offering. In 2007 we reached one million posts. We started offering articles to help expand peoples knowledge the same year, along with a database of drivers and other software that you can download. We are always looking for new ideas and new areas to branch into to help out our members.

I'm new here and it has helped me with the few posts I've had. I like how it offers help for just about everything, sw, hw, & different OSes.

Keep up the good work.

Re: Has TSF Helped you?

Actually I must take back what I said about this site "helping " me, this site has never "helped " me, what it has done is flat out saved my A** on more than one occasion.
Help isn't the right question, it should be, "Has the tech support forum saved your tail?".
This place is better with Windows O/S's than Microsoft, and the people here have more knowledge than all the hackers, support teams, computer builders, and users in the world.

Re: Has TSF Helped you?

It's called teamwork .. what I don't know the next guy does!
What he doesn't know maybe a visitor does .. we all learn from each other. I doubt if there's a member (whether team or visitor) that doesn't help by contributing that "extra" something that makes all the difference to a request for help.

The unfortunate thing is that we are spread thinly and have more requests for help than there is time to help. It's not about Team Members nor about regular contributions from members, it's about how popular the site is and how much time it takes to give the help
