I am not supoosed to get involved in ths, am I?
I should click myself out of here, shouldn't I? OK, I will... but not before I say... I am not sorry... Death is not the worse thing that can happen to anybody... Oppression is the worst thing that can happen to anybody... Malevolent dictatorships are not preferable to death... If you think that religion plays too much of a role in American politics, check out Iranian politics, the politics of the former Afghani and Iraqu regimes and the politics of the PLA. What is the living conditions of a child in North Korea? If you sent aid, would Kim Jong do the same with it that Saddam did? What happened to all of the food the "concerned" sent to Mogandishu? You like feeding Warlords? Twenty three more American citizens dead in Iraq..yes, I count them, and mourn them. What price freedom?...or is that only for you? Brave people are putting their lives on the line, every day, so that little girls can go to school. What are we doing, back in the "homeland"? |

I can't believe they are using that map...its so easily misunderstood.
It looks like Kerry only won 6 areas of Oregon, but he won the state. All those fields full of cows and crops in the midwest don't vote. Just my opinion, but the people on this site seem a bit overly vengeful and mean spirited.

It took me a while to respnd to this, but here I go.
To the 48% that did not vote for the president and are now so "mortified", I offer one suggestion. GET OUT! There are more than enough planes and ships that leave our country every day to accomdate you. You can tak I-5 down to Baja, or I-75 to Ontario so you have two climates to choose from. I am noticing that stocks are going up, and oil is <$45 a barrel. Why can't John Kerry supporters be like him and man up to the fact that he lost, and both sides have to work together. You think you are scared now? What happens in 2 years if the republicans pick up 5 senate seats? With a 60-39-1 majority, they could put the biggest racist pro-lifer on the supreme court and nobody could stop them. Not that I think we would do that, but there is more to American politics than the guy who is staying in our house. The county by county map is not too bad DD. They also have a map where the states are enlarged or shrunk by their electoral value. They are opposite sides of the same coin.

Yes, we made our choice. Just cause one canidate lost and another won is no reason for the losers supporters to give up all of these great freedoms by leaving.

Yep, isn't it amazing that everyone not from your country "knows" more about politics in your country, than the country's own citizens. It's sorta like watching football on TV and "playing" better than the quarterback while sittin on your butt scratchin your beer belly

Yeah, I can't believe Troy Smith threw those interceptions against Purdue. Put Zwick back in.

Quote:
I don't understand... I mean, it's obvious...people all over the world are outraged by our behavior. That's pretty hard to take unless one has some pretty firm beliefs, and I doubt that anyone with deep conviction would post sad pictures to get their point across (except, perhaps, some of the "right to life" people, who disgust me). Interestingly enough, most of the 300+ pictures tell my story as well as they tell theirs. The French oil prices are climbing faster than anyone else's because they lost their sweetheart deal with Saddam. The Brits are no different from the Americans; they manage to do the right thing most of the time, despite themselves. Spain is, essentially, a Communist country, and they have assured themselves that fate for many years to come. Australia is full of freedom fighters, as is Turkey, historically (but the Iraqis didn't want Turkey to play). Africa is more of a mess than it ever was, and there is little hope in site. Same is true of Mexico and most of South America (although many in those countries have made heroic efforts towards change, many paying with their lives). What does 36 or 40 or 100 pages have to do with anything? Bry got upset (I do that, too). Without the 49%, the 51% mean nothing. But I remain unimpressed by the demonstrations of the 60's here in the states, the demonstrations in England, recently, or this website. It's the stuff of the "cultural revolution" in China and Castro's movement in Cuba. Did you hear Bill Clinton? He said that he asked a friend, about three days before the election, "Am I the only person in America that likes both Bush and Kerry"? We voted...we decided...Kerry had enough concern for his country to end it there...God bless him. So how about you? Last edited by jgvernonco; 11-19-2004 at 06:02 PM. |

A lot people in europe and asia love america , if that website has success it s only because they always follows the american life in every aspect in their lives , movies ,music , clothing ,
and i don t see it bad for them to participate , they are just curious , and it s a chance for them to be in contact with us citizens . Dont they buy our computer ,our movies , our cars ,and in this actual slow economy , it s good to have people world wide love your country and buy your stuff . thats good for the US .
