Re: Comparing the American and British people

I can't load the page .. but even so .. without looking ..

What's American? what's British ??

Americans are now anyone who has come from almost anywhere in the world and several generations have passed ...

British are nothing different .. just many generations of mixed blood and nationalities ...

if there are any differences it's the fact that the British have been doing it for longer than the Americans ...

@ DF -

It's a different kind of comparison based more on people's opinions about certain matters.

@ scathe: How do Russians currently view America as a whole. IMHO I think the US are relatively friendly w/Russia but still eye certain politicians warily. I was not sure how we were viewed.

As I understand it it would seem that the citizens of the various countries get along quite well. We just can't stand the leaders of each other's countries.

Re: Comparing the American and British people

As dumb blonde Goldie Hawn said in a tv program years back .. it's all the smart people that cause us problems .. maybe she just didn't say it loud enough

Well said, unfortunately, I am like many Americans and see and hear only what the mainstream press spews forth. I am trying to make an effort to keep an open mind and for the last year have become a fan of Glen Beck and Rolley James. Regardless of the political goings on, I realize that places like TSF give everyone an opportunity to talk to our Friends abroad, and hopefully broaden my horizons at least a small bit!
