Instead of reflecting our love for our country,
we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib
and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.


Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive
in Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception
of the United States thus minimizing consequent support;
and it is intended to discourage American citizens.

It is a refreshing change to hear.

One thing that does puzzle my cynical brain is how much of this was true before the war? Iraq was hardly a backward or poor nation. It just had an evil dictator.

it was fairly backword but not that bad. in general i think things have improved overall. although some aspects have gotten alot worse, many more got better...
