Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v. Happy Holidays
hmmm. Over the last year I've lost about 1/4 my body weight and really only need to loose about 20 more lbs. If I loose much more than that my BDU pants won't stay up.

Are you in the military Gistek? If you lose all that weight don't you end up with a lot of loose skin?

I know what you mean. There's nothing wrong with me that a few thousand pounds of plastic surgery couldn't put right.

Since loosing all the weight over the last year my belly is somewhat softer, but I don't have any "apron" hanging. I think this is due to me loosing the weight slowly over a year's time and to doing crunches on my ab-lounger. --- I had a ton of fun today. The combined emergency services held their mass trauma excersize today and I got to be a victim. I had fake blood all over and a really realistic wound at my knee. Once all the victims were in "moulage" they took us to various "practice houses" on the training site (these are the ones they can put on fire for training). We were then told to find a place and act wounded. I picked the darkest corner of the first room, lay next to the wall and the CISM person in charge of my group covered me with cardboard "bricks" so I was pretty well hidden. I was found right away any way and the Nat'l Guard folks carried me out of the building on a flexible stretcher. Then I went through decontamination and triage. For most of the participants, this was the end of the scenario, but I was taken over to an advanced life support team and was the victim they used for their training sub-scenario. I couldn't keep track of what was going on very well, because I was playing unconsious. I only "roused" if someone was really persistant. Then all I'd say is, "I don' wanna go school," or "My foot hurts." (I figured since I was an amputee, my foot would probably hurt.) Afterward I had a chance to go through while consious and see all the stuff I missed the first go-round. Then I talked with one of the CISM people and had a chance to evaluate both of my experiences. We also talked a little about how CAP cadets (and senior members) could help the CISM team and came up with a few po |
