Quote:
Even a 'colour blind' person usually has some colour perception. It is quite rare to have total colour blindness. BTW, I can only read the first one!

Re: How colorblind are you?
As I remembered it, colourblindness is usually a genetic condition held on the x chromosome. Since males only have one X, any fault leads to a symptom. Females on the other hand have a second X chromosome, and so have to have the deficiency on both for it to show. Since you have a faulty x which your daughter inherited, the odds of her having a condition is greatly increased.
However, I'm sure that real life conditions are seldom that simple. |

Re: How colorblind are you?
Red/green is predominatly male weakness, yep. Don't remind me of what I do every day. :)
I get 3/6 and yep, when very pale colors are fudged next to one another with small size, I find them difficult to discern. Especially pale or dark red/green/brown and whilst you keep them to small dots or lines only. With more size and colour fill, I have no problem. My mum had absolutely tremendous color vision, she could sew and set the sewing machine up with very thin cotton of many colors perfectly when it was 90% dark around, and by that I mean just moonlight left. That was when I was young many years ago and I would stare at her face thinking "how does she know what she's doing...?" because as a 5-10 YO I couldn't figure out the various colours she could with the same light around. Especially the pink, beige and silk from white. |
