His Noodly Appendage
Pastafarianism enters the limelight.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21837499/ ( The Holy Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is one of my recommended reads.)

Re: His Noodly Appendage
I think we should all take a long hard look at our responses. We would not want to invoke an intervention by the Noodly Appendage. In fact, perhaps that is why TSF crashed reciently.
Repeat with me: Oh Flying Spaghetti Monster, we do humbly appologise for any mockary of your hallowed presence. Please don't use the Noodly Appendage on us again. EnglishPaul, Jedi Knight. |

Re: His Noodly Appendage
I think the FSM was created to make people realize they can rebuke any religion just as easily as the FSM, which leads us to question why so many religions exist but none proved. SO basically, to prove a point. Seems as though Mankind needs a simpler explanation for the existence of everything... i.e. god(s) created it, the spirits let it be, the flying spaghetti monster created it, etc. With science we shouldn't have to make things up however.

Re: His Noodly Appendage
I feel religions are based on faith and not proof. The fact that there are so m,any diff religions only shows the divercity of the human race. People need to belive in some thing. If they can find solace in the religion of their choice, so be it. But on the same note, religion should not be pushed upon others who belive differently. I also belive that science can also be a part of religion. Or at least the two shouldn't contridict each other if one has an open mind.

Quote:
I believe there will always be things that we can observe, but can't understand. And there will be many things that we won't even be able to observe (and thus are ignorant to). Science can take us a long way, but not all the way. So as for the rest, faith is an option. So is denial (we don't understand it therefore it must be unimportant). In the west we seem to go for distraction (I don't care to think about the things we don't know; whats on tv tonight?) Perhaps instead of intelligent design, scientific limitations should be taught. Kids would learn how science is good, but not absolute, and not comprehensive. Darwin need not oppose the Flying Spaghetti Monster, nor the other way round. As a pastafarian you can believe that the truth must lie in the 0.5 or 0.1% error rate of science, or as a scientist you could believe that when in hot water the FSM is a bit wobbly. Or perhaps evolution is mediated by the noodly appendage. |

Re: His Noodly Appendage
EP, I agee 100%, science is never perfect. We still haven't figured out the intricate workings of the Stargate burried below Chyanne Mt. Sure it's operational but are we using it to it's full potential? Which brings me to a query I have. Who serves Whom, the gauld(?sp) or the Spaggetti Diety or do they work together to enslave different worlds? Maybe we were never meant to know!

Re: His Noodly Appendage
Don't hail the appendage, for that is only the tool by which the FSM's will is mediated.
The true believer must hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster in its totality, and perhaps its source will splash upon you. And Ebackhus, use the Jedi mind trick on your girlfriend. She will thank you for it. You will make her thank you for it. But Ashumann, how could you believe that the FSM would enslave worlds? It is not cruel. |
