'Cannonball' driver burned across US in 31 hours

Alex Roy, 35, who waited a year to boast about his exploits and remains vague about the exact dates in a bid to avoid any prosecution, said he had blistered across 13 states in 31 hours and 4 minutes, breaking the old record by more than an hour.

Re: 'Cannonball' driver burned across US in 31 hours

Back in 1976 three of us drove from California to New York in 52 hours, including getting held up for 3 hours in beautiful Rawlins, Wyoming in a blizzard - it was June!!! We never even broke the speed limit (well hardly ever )

So this is quick but not startling.

Not at all cool. I Bet you dad would not have been impressed if the idiot smashed into your car at an average speed of 95mph.
