these were the bricks that lined a plaza on the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus where student George Winne, Jr. burned himself in protest of the Vietnam War in 1970. The bricks from the site of the immolation were removed from the Revelle Plaza and relocated nearby, the charred silhouette serving as a reminder of what happened.

Same thing happened in Prague in the 1960s when the soviets were taking over. A man burned himself in front of thousands and thousands of soviet soliders. Sent quite a shockwave throughout the world from what I heard, very moving to see the location as well.

They needed psychiatric help. How does putting yourself thropugh the most painful experience have any impact on others? I just don't get it. It is literally crazy.
