people lay tributes at roadside in tribute to friends..

....alls normal so far, except that the roadside is also known over here as the Hardshoulder of the M56

Quote:
People are risking their lives to pay tribute to two boys killed on the M56 in Cheshire by placing flowers at the carriageway where they died.
Police say a number of floral tributes have been laid on the hard shoulder of the M56 at Preston Brook, near Runcorn.
Quote:
Instead, Guy Davies' parents have suggested that well-wishers wanting to pay their respects should lay flowers at the gates of Murdishaw West Community Primary School in Barnfield Avenue, Murdishaw, where the youngsters were both pupils.
Whilst its tragic, it begs the question - where were there parents

Re: people lay tributes at roadside in tribute to friends..

I saw a news interview of the dad of one of them, and I hope he was in the midst of denial, because he seemed so mater of fact about the death; as if they had been caught pinching chewing gum from a local shop!

It is not, however, the first time that laying flowers is a dangerous business. There are several routes between Sheffield and Manchester, and flowers are laid at regular points (not the safest of roads!) but heaven only knows how the flowers are laid with no additional injury.
