Microsoft Buys facebook

Just heard it on the news. MS have bought facebook for £100m.

Shame, so now i guess facebook is going to get worse, same as hotmail I reckon, slow and full of rubbish.

Re: Microsoft Buys facebook

Try finding a Simpsons' clip these days on youtube, just a 1 minute clip. The place is completely purged.

Re: Microsoft Buys facebook

Yeah I guess youtube isn't the same type of company as MS in some respects, but something funky always happens to these sites that get bought by a bigger corp.

Re: Microsoft Buys facebook

Microsoft bought 1.6% of facebook for 240 million dollars, not the whole thing.

EDIT: I think the deal was primarily for Microsoft to provide facebook's ads, and share the revenue between them.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/25/te...prod=permalink

a 1.6% stake is hardly enough to suddenly change facebook into social networking a la hotmail.

Re: Microsoft Buys facebook

But, as far as MS is concerned Facebook is worth a potential $15 billion!

Re: Microsoft Buys facebook

MS paid 240 million because they were trying to beat out google and yahoo, not because facebook is worth 15 billion :P
