Re: U.S. Judge rules breathalyzers for pedestrians unconstitutional
Ok i'll clear up the german drinking laws and go by the book then tell you the truth.
In germany it is legal for all kids of ages 16-18 to go to any establishment and drink beer and wine up to Midnight at that point the kids must leave and go home. At 18 everything is made legal you may drink until the early dawn morning hours if you please. The truth, typically kids start to go to their local pub or so around age 14 for the early kids and 15 for the later starters they will drink lightly beer and wine for the pub owner will know them and be mindful of them. At 16 they are generally set loose and for tha ttime period on they are rarely ever thought of again. I can count the times i've been carded at pubs, and clubs on one hand. The attitude towards drinking is its part of the culture poeple do it, just do it in moderation and be responsbile about it, the idea of beer bongs, or taking 5-6 shots is basically unheard of because how we've been raised towards the aspect of alchol. We are also raised with the aspect of sex, sex at 16-17 is typical in fact I would venture a guess and say that far more german teenagers are sexually active at younger ages then american teenagers at the same age, yet have a lower instance of STDs, and unwanted pregancies, because basically every girl is on birth control and condoms are rampant. In fact my old bar tender had a rule that if you met a girl or a girl met a guy and they wanted to take them back as their ordering a drink simply ask for a condom and they will give you one when they give you your drink. The notion of a ploice squad goign around and breaking up parties of teenagers would be laughed at here in germany for many would be asking why are they wasting their time ruining a teenagers weekend when they could be something more useful such as catching crimials and so forth. |
