This has been happening for years, just in the playground or school grounds, the internet is no different. It makes people, it certainly does me. If kids dont experience some form of insults they dont grow up to defend themselve etc. As JC once said in his book "Bullies made me"

I agree that if it didn't happen on the internet it would still happen in the playground.

But I think that parents should take more notice of what children are doing on their computers.

A friend of mine has a 15yr old son and he is allowed to do whatever he wants on his computer. When he was originally given the laptop, i was asked to set up the security etc.

I set up parental controls that were relevant for his age, but his parents then gave him the password to bypass the controls.
When i go through his browsing history, i am amazed at what they allow him to view.

I have told them what he is viewing and they don't seem to care.
As long as it keeps him quiet.

Re: Are Cyber Bullies Ruining Our Childrens' Lives?

To be fair though, at 15 he should be able to sort himself out, whatever he gets into on the net, is still his responsibility. In young kids though, web controls should be stricter to try and convert them to the idea before they want to rebel!(it happens to the best of us). I'm 15 and i am aware of the consequences of my actions are just as prominent on the net as in life.
