Oklahoma woman takes sue happy RIAA to the bank
By Austin Modine in Mountain View
Published Tuesday 17th July 2007 20:30 GMT In what appears to be the first known case of its kind, the RIAA has been ordered to pay a defendant nearly $70,000 in attorney fees and costs after unsuccessfully suing for copyright infringement. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/07...ys_legal_fees/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() - - - - also see this: RIAA tried to shake down 10-year-old daughter, suit claims http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/06...man_sues_riaa/ What part of this is just ridiculous?

Re: Oklahoma woman takes sue happy RIAA to the bank
Its about time I know there was a 86 year old lady here in our town that had 5 songs on her computer her granddaughter downloaded for her old old songs like from the 50's and 60's and they sued her and won 4000 from that poor old lady. She still hasnt paid and is now 90 and in her death bed so they are threatening to sue the nursing home she is in now.

Re: Oklahoma woman takes sue happy RIAA to the bank
heh...more like focus all of their might on the real 'pirates'...you know, the ones who SELL copies...anyways, if you all were paying attention they DO go after the uploaders, not downloaders...its been pretty much proven that downloading has little if any effect on sales (I rather trust the MIT study that says this), rather declining sales are because of cr@ppy music by cr@ppy 'artists'...
