This post concerns people of black skin color.

But not all people of black skin color only a certain group of this population.

And it involves the typical black elderly (at least 30 years of age) female.

I work at BK and I get lot of customers, and in this fast paced enviorment (its called fast food for a reason) we have to deal with customers as quickly as possible. Well we do make mistakes and a lot of times customers give us a bit of slack. But I've noticed this concern black females.

They don't give slack... in fact they are rather picky... and annoying.

Several examples

One time a lady ordered a sandwich well she wanted one slice of cheese but it to be cut in half and spread out evenly (This is BK not subway we are fast food not quality food) and her general order was very picky along with the way she acted and i'm sitting there like "good god, if you want this service go to a place where they offer it" and so forth. (didn't say that) and she was overly picky not very forgiving etc. Even her daughter came out and said "God man, don't be so picky"

Another time was I had placed an order in a bag, it was a somewhat large order and had filled up our biggest bag so I had placed her fries on the side so I could close the bag and give her the order. Well she opened the bag and saw that the fries were on the side and as I'm dealing with another customer I get a complaint from her stating sh doesn't want her fries sideways but rigid straight up forcing me then to throw away (perfectly good fries even after her requesting them fresh, and then giving her a ENTIRE NEW BAG just for her fries so they could stand right ways up.

(This one is a kicker) I had to help this lady several times with her complaints. Once was because I had treated her drink cup too harshly and she didn't want it. Drink cup was fine in fact I gave it to the next customer. Next complaint had to do with the fact that we hadn't microwaved her fish sandwich to melt the cheese (this is against policy because it does something to the fish which isn't healthily or something like that) Then after we microwaved it she cut in half to inspect the side of the meat didn't' like the way it looked so demanded a fresh remake (her compliant here was very valid it looked like the fish had gone bad), then she opened to find her onion rings granted all be it 100% freash had fries in her cartoon... In fact she even counted them and said it was 3 fries and that she felt they were not fresh since they contained fries. (Even though I had cooked them myself when she had requested them to be cooked) She then wanted to complain about something else but her husband finally told her to stop shes getting too annoying.

Another story, I was in a rush because I had a large line we were understaffed and I had to do the work of 2 people. So in taking a ladys order I took her change and placed it on the table and then went to hand out orders. She complained because she felt that I should of handed her chance into her hand and take all the time in the world to ensure she had her chances fit nicely into her hand etc. And she was very upset about it and i'm sitting there like "wow, come on lady just pick up the change yourself and let me do my work"

The reason why i'm on cash register is because my manger said he likes at how plotie and nice I can be even when put under the gun. So may I remind you in all of those cases it was always yes ma, certinaly ma, the way you like ma etc blah blah to them. As in I was overly nice to ensure that I didn't have to waste my time and everyone elses to get my manger out.

All of those stories are of black females. Black males, and all whites generally are far more laid back and easy going. And i've even discussed this with my co-workers several of whom are black and they agree.

My only question is, why? Why is it only one group of poeple with THE BIGGEST COMPLAINTS! Often times the most stupid ones.

Also let me discuss my customer base most of it is mlitary, or their faimlies. Meaning they most likely haven't been raised in broken homes etc.

The black femle population in my best guess is most likely half military women, and half spouse of military members.

Hmm, Interesting.

I wouldnt do anything for them. As you said, If they dont like how the food is prepared, then why visit the shop. Seems perfectly logical. In a fast food restaurant, it is exactly as the name suggests. If you have to spend 10-15mins customizing someones order to their perfection you might aswell just make it a restaurant.

To be honest, Id play really straight and cocky with the customers that challenge you. Tell them if they dont like it, put it in the bin and go elsewhere. As for orders where they ask you to do things their way. Dont. Do it the way you have been trained. You could possibly get into more trouble for cooking food the customer wants it and not following the companies cooking policy then being straight and blunt to them.

I think it s a matter of education , how well or bad the parents educate their kids and explain them how people work inside a fast food restaurant and teach the kids how to be patient when you order your food .

It is, and some poeple do.

Also this is an American established business on a base. From my experience Americans tend to put more focus on customer service then other cultures. So again you have to consider the poeple i'm suffering.

But the time is coming when i'ma just blow up at a customer for being TOO PICKY.

When I go to a fast food joint I want several things
1. Food
2. Decent Price
3. Speed

Never in that statement did I say taste or quality.

Exactly. people like you aint going to scrub their hands eveytime they serve a different meal to someone.

Some people just cant respect what they are given.

If your @$$ is too lazy or stupid to prepare a meal AT HOME then be prepared to deal with it.

Many times if someone thinks they're getting attitude they'll have you "fetch & carry". That could be part of it.

Maybe you are only noticing this trend because you are racist? A lot of people don't believe they are, but realize it in small ways. Either way I got a warning for typing an unexceptable word last week but this is allowed?!

I think typing a bad word with letters missing is more exceptable than someone getting away with racism just cuz it starts with "I don't mean to be racist but..."

The bottom line is that only someone with atleast a little racism in them would not only noce this but also comment on it.

The OP is making a valid point, in his eyes, something that is true where he works. How else is he meant to write his post if he cant use terms to describe peoples race?

Lets face it, he could have used alot more serious words but he used the politically correct terms.

I don't think it's racist at all. Nik is simply identifying a group that is more awkward than others. They could equally well have been disabled or german, instead of black. (They could have been all three. ) It is, however, ageist. Nik, 30 IS NOT ELDERLY!!!! 70 is elderly.

i still believe it is an education problem , some people have manners and some don't . Sometimes it s even a group of people , it all depends how they were educated .

Exemple : someone kissing his dog is normal for me and for you too maybe .

For some people ,kissing a dog is Gross and not polite at all .

Conclusion : it s a matter of education ( maybe also cultural background )
