Pilot forgets to lower landing gear

A pilot ran through the usual steps of getting ready to land his small plane, except for one little thing — he forgot to lower his landing gear.

Oh dear! How embarrassing.

He's not the first person to do that and I don't suppose he'll be the last. It's easy to do when you've only flown with fixed undercarriages and then switch to retractable.

I don't think his Insurance Company will appreciate those sorts of mistakes.

A Beechcraft Bonanza has a warning system on board that should have prevented that kind of mistake, and surely owning the aircraft since 1985 he'd know better!

I think that he needs to go back and be retrained...imagine if he had other passengers on board and the 'landing' was more serious.
