Re: What's your Vista Score?

This is the best I can to till I upgrade my hardware...it's not that bad though. The graphics rating is poor but I don't have any probs doing the things I need to...but I am missing out on some visual aspects:

Re: What's your Vista Score?

What do you guys think I would get for my newly build system? (See My System) I haven't actually got Vista yet, I probably won't get it till DirectX 10 is out.

I need to add more RAM to it, probably another 2GB, though. If I need better graphics, I'll just pop another one in using SLI. Oh, and I'll probably buy another hard drive...

Oh, and what abouts my laptop? Heh.

OMG. I scored 1.0 I'm using an onboard graphics card and am waiting for a new card to arrive. I hope I'm going to see a big improvement.

WEI is pretty inane for overall combined system scaling, although it highlights the weakest component exaggeratively alright!

Just ran it with a colleagues system right here with these specs:

Base: 5.2

AMD X2 5000+ - 5.2
2x1GB PC2-4200 - 5.9
SATA II 300GB - 5.7
NV 7600GT -
  • Graphics Aero: 5.9
    Graphics Gaming: 5.4

It's only graphics which you beat me on Jay and that's only because I have an outdated card which isn't made or supported any more.

Watch this space when I get my new mobo, cpu, ram & gpu package

Re: What's your Vista Score?

If it's a DX9 card, most above the 7900 will score 5.9.

If anything is not DX9 compatible, it can't score above 2. (~IIRC)

Only an Intel quad core Kenty/Xeon can score 5.9, even at 2.66GHz.

An Intel C2D E6420 at 4GHz will score 5.8.

Highest base and individual scores yet possible is 5.9, until more hardware is released and patches to WEI. So thus in far, I need higher boundaries.
