I'm afraid to think how successful were his sons first operations - when he was twelve...

Re: 15-year-old performs surgery in India

oh...I don't know...I started professionally tying fishing flies when I was 12, and by the time I was 15 I was better than 99% of the adults I knew...and I still work with my hands...I admit because of an occasional twitch I would make a terrible surgeon, but I can easily see how a 15yr old would be an excellent knife man as long as he knew the exact procedure...a brilliant talented youth would be a far better bet than a marginal old man with a lost of supposed experience..

Re: 15-year-old performs surgery in India

Very stupid, but quite practically intelligent to be able to perform such a task successfully. Most kids wouldn't have a clue where to start, even if taught at such an age. The two name seeking "Doctors" should be punished for such negligent wrecklessness by the Medical Association.

There is no way I could do it at that age.

Follow up :

Police trying to arrest alleged teen surgeon in southern India .
On Monday, police arrested Dhileepan Raj's parents and charged them with cheating, forgery of records, endangering human life, concealing evidence and abetting a crime, Sekharan said.

The two have been jailed awaiting a court trial. If convicted, they could be imprisoned up to seven years each, he said.

Very tough law compared to western law, but very deserving IMO.

Re: 15-year-old performs surgery in India

A bit harsh but the parents should not have let a 15 year old do surgery
