Does skin shade among asian community equal Racism ?

Since when did skin shade, religion and the prospect of living with your in-laws become a concern for educated, career women looking for Mr Right?

Re: Does skin shade among asian community equal Racism ?

Internalized bigotry is an inevitable side effect of the sickness of bigotry, i.e., internalized rascism, sexisim, homophobia...all the pathetic forms.

When, just out of college, I was writing and dolin PR at Pepsico, a girl who became my best friend who also worked there taught me about this pathetic. She is African-American....a gorgeous, rich, deep skin color with red undertones....she told me she wastarget of abuse within her own family coming up in Ohio, as she was darker than her relatives.

Common.....this abounds. Again, all bigtotry is manifestation of ignorance, the inability to connect to other individuals as individuals, but mainly. it's about secret self-hatred & feedlings of inadequacy...a kind of unconscious drug wherein the politics appear to make the bigot feel better about himself/herself---doesn't work..
Just kills me....and I come upon it every day....sometimes within people I more or less respect and like. Heartbreaking.

Because it takes away my joy in respecting and liking them! That is an accurate account.

Arrogance and stupidity exists in all cultures and places. Talking about skin color reminds me oft of the norm.

Amazing how in movies (bollywood) the depiction of love is that it has no boundaries. Yet culturally it is frowned upon if women choose to 'marry out'. This seems to shows the age old tradition that men are allowed to do what women will get frowned up for doing. If the love is there, and it's pure, skin color, religion, culture and traditions should not matter, in my opinion.

O....above, Kalim, Sparrow.....so right, so pervasive & so depressing.

I now get how lucky I was coming up; my parents had certian standards for those they respected and adored....and they had friends of every color, age, size, profession, religion, socio economic group......I thought this was the way the world was.

The way it is....I now get on all levels, but I will never get used to it. Part of wut I observe....ks that more people than I could bear to realize....basically live in internal ghettos.

It is in most accords, some are genuine, most are however just a show and that's the harsh reality and basic human nature, shaped by the events in history. We have done well to overcome the barrier in most cases, but it still becomes apparent in some cases...

This is a fact. also now get that anyone who can not manifest Real in the moment....is missing every single goody in that moment. And compromising their capacity for connecting to others in the only way that matters.

Greatest privilege en life, I think.....the privilege of being who U really are....the reclaimed version. I will have nobody in my life who can't to a given degree.....wut is the point?

Nobody with a "public personna"can evah B happy.
