Army food is 'cheaper than a dog's dinner'
The Army spends more feeding its dogs than its soldiers, it has been claimed.
Figures obtained by a Tory MP show that £1.51 a day goes on meals for troops, compared with £2.63 for military dogs. Even prisoners – who cost £1.87 a day to feed – fare better than servicemen. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770

Re: Army food is 'cheaper than a dog's dinner'
Boy, I hope this dailymail article isn't a semi-dupe, like the one that got me.
In any case, I have a tremendous amount of respect for soldiers- I know I'd have a hard time if I were fighting.

Re: Army food is 'cheaper than a dog's dinner'
I wonder if that is the same way here, cause those are "Tory MPs".....

Re: Army food is 'cheaper than a dog's dinner'
This is funny.
It reminds me when my Dad was in the army and he brought back a rashion pack (This contains there daily food), and there was some beef looking stuff in there, and we gave it to our dog and she usually eats anything and she would not eat it! she choose her biscuits instead

Quote:
The troops are extremely well fed don't let dollars misguid you... more people means more food more food being produced means cheaper prices PLUS its not a mass quantity of food but it is all in very high calories... the MRE's in the US military just one package contains about 3000 calories... its not filling but alot of energy. And if anyone owns a dog they know how expensive that gets to feed just one.
