Dell: Do you want Linux? (survey)
Dell has posted a survey at its website where users can fill in how they would use Linux, with what Dell model, what you would use your computer for, language, etc. There no other interpretation of this than that Dell is still thinking of launching computers with a preinstalled Linux.
Those of you who want to affect the outcome and give Dell a push in the right direction can head over to Dell's website and its linux survey. Survey open from 13-23 March

Re: Dell: Do you want Linux? (survey)
It would be interesting to see how it turns out. I thought they had a partnership with MS though. Wonder how that will turn out if they do.

Re: Dell: Do you want Linux? (survey)
Well I think they know that users want Linux and thats pushing users away from prebuilt preinstalled Dell/MS systems. Now to make it formal, they only want a few or one of the series moved over to Linux, so to find out they are running a survey primarily for figures. The lower chain is easier to satisfy than the ones higher up at such corps. They tend to be hardwired to 80% and over figured results only
![]() The numbers from what I know, are to show the positions higher up the chain and prove that moving to Linux is a viable option for them and how much demand there is for it. Its them who demand such statistics in the form of barcharts and what not on every point and decision! |
