Omaha just passed one banning smoking in any public place sans keno parlors. Lincoln has the same and as far as I know NE legislature is looking at a state wide ban in public places.

Its killing yourself regardless. Not very intelligent or wise now is it, but rather fashion and trend driven. Want to light something, fine, go do it where you don't disturb and kill another. We've been screaming about this since 30 years in our faculties, but hey, government rules science too

Live it as you please - your life, your health and your right, but please smoke in private so my family and I won't have to breathe in the smoke. Also, if you wouldn't mind, please ensure that your health insurance remains current so that any issue you may encounter as a result of smoking won't become a public tax burden. That's kinda funny and reminds me of the days I used to smoke and thow darts. I used to smoke cigars because it annoyed the other players.

Anyways I just heard on our local news that Iowa just sign a new law cranking up the cigarette tax up another dollar.

At my job they all smoke by the door which is against the law. When it warms up, I will call the 800 # every day.

I am worse. I am the guy who started smoking as a teen. I smoked for 11 years and haven't smoked in the last 9. If I can quit anybody can. I voted for that law, it is nice to not have to say "non-smoking". I mean if you can't sit thorugh a meal w/o smoking, then you will probably die a horribles painful death.

My business. If you don't like the job or the environment you work in, quit. You knew what you were getting into when you were hired. If you don't like it, you should have never applied.
And as for the customers, if they don't like it, they don't need to patronize my establishment.

Don't get me wrong. I am a non-smoker and don't really care for the smoke. But I don't think it's the government's business to come in a push more laws on the public.

This sounds like another topic on "the government is our babysitter" because we are irresponsible and don't know what's good for us.

I'm not talking about companies like call centers or banks... I'm talking about bar owners and resturant owners who have people telling them that they cannot allow smoking in THEIR resturant/bar.

Why do you feel the need to complain about someone elses business practices... don't like it... dont eat or drink at THEIR establishment!

Agreed. I hate seeing people whine about how a business is run. They decided to go there. They prolly saw any and all signs stating what is and what is NOT permitted within those walls. Don't like it? LEAVE.
