"Tag-and-Track"

Picture a police cruiser pursuing a suspect's car. The car tries to speed off, but the cruiser shoots a dart from its grill that sticks to the fleeing car.

A tracking device encased in the dart allows the officer to back off the pursuit and monitor the car's movements until the car is corralled without incident.

Neat little bit of kit there. Our police wouldnt buy it due to cost. I mean they would have to prove its worth to some beurocrat up on high who would ban them. Welcome to england. i like though. Safer policing in my opinion

nice idea, but why has it taken so long to come to light. they need to get police trucks with grapples on them, then they can just hook up to the car, and force it to stop.

Nice, that is quite clever, but they have taken a while to come up with the idea!

Well, TBH, I don't think that it would really be needed in this country, I mean, how many car chases do we get around here? No many.

Useful in a place like America...

we dont get many because the police have other tactics to catch them. Like helicopters, and our coppers are taught in safe chasing not always to go for a chase because someone gets away. But surely they would be able to end the rein of destruction caused by some drivers with this.

Well, not really, the destruction wouldn't be changed much by this...

And places in America have Helicopters, yet they have loads and loads more chases than us.

And helicopters are probably a easier thing to use than these things.
