Cool Yep....Classic Abe Lincoln!

"It is shocking that Microsoft would have so little regard for another company's intellectual property rights that it would select a name belonging to another company," Lenny Targon, Office Live chief executive, said in a statement. "Online software may be the next big thing, but Microsoft has no right to use our trademark without permission

Excuuuuzeee me??????? Wheah, EXACTLY...HAVE THESE PEOPLE BEEN forevah??? In a cave in Tibet????

This....is "shocking"????

This.....is wut has defined their entire MO, M-Vivendi from Jump!!!!!!

I hope we loose all the Office Live products, ans M$ will realise they cant get away with things. I wonder what the new product is called and whether it'll become illegal to run them on our systems. Surely then, we would have to be refunded.

Wow, looks like Microsoft are really in trouble! I think they might be going down!

They had poor Vista sales, they have been sued a few times, they are trying to make new products desperately, lots of piracy...

Well it was phrased as such to inspire a response

Basically saying, with Vista and Vienna and all the new technologies/software they're trying to incorporate into them (own/limit) and really push for a monopoly in this total computing market, these sort of smackdowns is what they need to check them completely away from any sort of hegemonical plans. I detest anyone taking a pontifical attitude, and that sums up MS for ya nowadays.
Such a fine is not negligible by any stretch in business. And at any product line launch when the costs are at peak, this is nice justice

1) We will B refunded when (again) the Pope gets married.

2) But yes, whole natural world is engineered to do away with toxins.....unless we, in our stupidity and leminglike sensibiities damge things beyond the point of repair

3) Re the world (or worm) turning.....to MAC.....as I reitertate annoyingly.....already in play.

Doris Kearns Goodwin (amazing & she won a Pulitzer) wrote this dimentional book about Lincoln...during the writing of which, she said, she fell totally in luv with him. I gotta read it. Ponder that all our satesmen/heros R dead----and maybe why we R left with poor Britney & Donald Trump, OMG. Also ponder, since unelected President impelmented long standing gameplan illegally and waged war on a country guilty of not one thing re hurting us.....terrorism has increased SEVEN FOLD IN THE WORLD.

Worms ...... do not turn fast enuff 4 Jilly. Nor do they turn by themselves.

I am depressed.

I want to see them get smacked down for this "Microsoft Genuine Advantage" thing. As I remember they were told some years ago that they couldn't "force" people to reveal their product ID codes for services. Yet that is exactly what the "MSGA" IS! If you don't have a legitimate copy of windows then you are barraged with messages saying that and you can no longer get updates, etc. So, basically, if you actually have a genuine copy and MS thinks it isn't you are screwed!

Ditto.....but not entirely true (let's always work toward being objective)....re the getting screwed if they don't think your copy is genuine.....I had issues installng downloaded hotfixes in my lappy....worked long and hard with an excellent MS techie.....and at first, had Genuine Advantage issue.....but sending them all the logfiles and data they asked 4...ovah & ovah, being patient.....and getting 2 the bottom of the issue....yes, took time, but their employees, at least, R reasonable and smart.

But THEIR CORE chicanery, greed, the end justifies the means, Fascism, toxins....R at the foundation....and that is and always has been, the problem.....as far as I can C.

Re the infinite list of that for which they deserve 2 B expunged.....again, LOOK AT THIS SITE.

Get some snese of the gazillion fine humans......having to make time...lifeminutes we will not get back....adressing issues resulting from their garbage operating systems!!!!!! And all related things ensuing......all the software evolved to address each and every disgusting!

It's all BAD, Ok?

Jill, the ends do not justify the means. If they were told some years ago that was a no-no and now they are just trying to hide it doesn't make it right. You should not have to worry that your product ID gets hijacked and registered by someone else or whatever and then have to jump through hoops with M$ just to get your updates.

My sister has a good copy of XP that WAS on my brother-in-law's PC before I stole it and used it to rework mine and now M$ says it isn't genuine. I don't use that copy of XP so there is no reason that it's not good. It is a retail version and her's is the only PC it is being run on. I doubt the log files and such would do her any good since it isn't the original PC and the original paperwork is now gone.(my sister isn't good at keeping records)
