Reclaim excessive bank charges.

Unfortunately, this may only apply in the UK, but according to various newcasts, newspapers, etc, the penalties charged by banks for going over overdraft limits, bouncing cheques etc. are illegal and a number of people have successfully reclaimed these. One national newspaper gives this link to explain how to do it and provides template letters to send to the bank.

I know I've done it many times before and so have many of my friends/family. But it wasn't entirely this method and I think people are going to end up in debt by missing the point while putting a recalim through: only if it exceeds the cost. Take it to the magistrate, how will you prove otherwise?

Ah, yea. They can only claim the money if they loose out, and they can only charge what they lost out with.. Otherwise, just don't pay.
