Mail in rebates are a huge scam.

If the price has got a rebate attached to it. I don't purchase the item. I am simply not interested in jumping through the hoops required to receive the rebate.(which very from place to place).

I feel that I have better things to do with my time. than attempt to play the roll of a police man, or an investigator to determine which rebate offers are good and which ones are not.

I usually can find the product as cheap or in most cases cheaper at the (local) place where I have purchased most of my computer items.

Most individuals pay for special offers at least knowing they work well with some chosen retailers.

All major retailers offer them and as per my experience, followed correctly, only once (Tiger Direct) did I get any hassle.

You are not the first person I have heard say similar to what you have said about Tiger Direct.

Consequently I purchase nothing from them.

Yes most major retailers offer rebates. I am thankful that the one where I have purchased most of my computer items...offers very few of them...Because in order to receive the rebate from them you need to first fill in the rebate form and send it to them. Then on the last day that you can legally receive your rebate, you need to call them and tell them you have not received it and you will receive it in another three to four week period.

Frankly I can not be bothered, But that may be just me.

This should not take anything away from the good you are doing by finding and posting these deals. It is appreciated.

But you can't make a blanket statement like that. While I agree that there may be unreputable companies doing that, I have made many purchases with rebates, and all I'll say is that I'd be a couple thousand dollars poorer if they didn't have rebates.

Don't quite understand what you mean by "good" there mimo.
If you mean reliable, and how it compares to other HDDs on the market -- then its one of the best.

I've had 2 of them in 2 different comps for quite a while now. It is an external drive though, remember that. Worth ~$300 off sale.

No idea if the offers are on today too. Most be single day or a 2 week offers and were supposed to be ending 27th and the 31st.

forc, u talking about that hans-g one? do you have it connected with the dvi, or analog?
I was thinking about buying it, I found out that I can sell my current Gateway FPD1520 15" LCD on ebay for over $50, and that's just a little under the price of the 17" one!

Acquainted with admin on 3 such forums (deals/cheapest offers/coupons) and a friend in ME who hunts around for them daily. I don't have the time to go looking or searching for them, but get flooded with emails about deals daily so I just post one or two back here. I have kind friends
The problem is, when I can't find the time to run a check on the deals/links/offers/codes/prices/coupons/terms myself, I won't mention them.

I expect these deals to be over by now apart from maybe 2. They are usually day deals lasting a maximum of 4 weeks.
