AllofMp3.com Sued for $1.65 Trillion!

AllofMP3 typically charges under $1 for an entire album and just cents per track.

Wow....Thats a lot.I dont think it will get all the way through. If its legal in russia, then its the users accessing the music/website who are at fault. Everyone in the world can access the website, so as long as its not hosted in a country where the activities are illegal. They should be ok. Thats my 2 cents

Here's the deal... allofmp3 is perfectly legal with the russian RIAA (ROMS)

the RIAA claims that its illegal because artists don't get any royalties, but what they don't tell you is that allofmp3 pays ROMS royalties on each song they sell.... all the RIAA has to do is prove that they own the rights to the music being sold, and ROMS will turn over the royalties to them... and its all legit. But the greedy RIAA would rather sue and make a trillion dollars than legitimize a company that they perceive as eating into their profits in a country that doesn't have the government pandering to the music industry every chance it gets.

Don't believe me? Would you believe that the US refused Russia entrance into the WTO unless they shut down the site?

oh yeah, someone commenting on that site made the comment that this lawsuit is greater than the GDP of russia (the sum value of all the goods produced within the borders of the country).

From https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications...s/rs.html#Econ

Russian GDP $1.584 trillion (2005 est.)

The Swedish ISP that decided to block allofmp3.com a couple of days ago didn't know what they had coming. Now they're being blocked by Piratebay and The Pirate Party are calling for other sites to do the same.

The Pirate Bay!....that place is a gas...reading their archives of correspondence is a laugh one won't soon forget...the fact they are still in existence definitely proves they are not a site to mess with, and I'm sure that ISP is finding that out right now..roflmao..

I whole heartedly agree with DumberDrummer's thoughts...he's right on the mark

So, it is legal in the country they are operating in, but not in other countries, where they are trying to get them done?
If they are following the laws in their country, then surely these other people can't do anything about it?

Anything that gets up the noses of the bully boys of the RIAA is fine by me. Perhaps it's time that consumers counter sued for being charged ridiculous prices for carpy music?

the following has been copied and pasted from The Pirate Bay:

Censorship and blocks

The past ten days we have been blocking a whole swedish ISP (Perspektiv Bredband) from accessing The Pirate Bay.

The reason for doing this was a very important one for us - the ISP decided to censor all traffic in their network to the russian site allofmp3.com - without the site actually being illegal according to Swedish law.

Censoring the internet is a very bad road to go down and we will stand up for our right of free internets!

There has been some press about the block-initiative we took together with our friends in Piratbyrån and the Pro Piracy Lobby. Today, Perspektiv Bredband did something that made us very happy - they reconsidered and removed all the censorship of allofmp3.com!

More information can be found (in Swedish) on the Piratbyrån Forum

Merry X-mas and a happy new year btw!
