No alien takers for sub-orbital offerings

ROSWELL, N.M., Dec. 22 A U.S. company launched a sub-orbital rocket over Roswell, N.M., and offered its contents to any lurking alien abductors, but none took advantage of the offer.
Joe Latrell, president of Beyond-Earth Enterprises, specializing in commercial sub-orbital rocket launching, said last Friday's launch of a 12-foot suborbital rocket carrying the cremated remains of a rabbit, poetry and hair samples returned to Earth without being abducted over the desert town known for its alleged crash of an alien ship in 1947.

We sent out a radio signal saying, 'This is the launch time for this rocket and if any aliens were nearby, come and get it,' Latrell told the Roswell Daily Record. He said he's not convinced aliens exist was merely being entrepreneurial.

I'm not certain, but there are people who do believe, so let's create a product that would cater to them, he said. The company plans 12 Roswell launches in 2007, in partnership with the UFO museum, which sells retail kits in which to put one's personal effects for the flight.

Customers get their goods back with a certificate that says although aliens failed to abduct the rocket, there's always next year.
