I once read a true story about a man that was driving from NY to boston, and he was very tired. He drove and drove, and he got to a toll booth. He held out some money, and the attendant was like, what's up idiot, this is the canadian border!

British whimps....550 miles is just getting started for some of us.

I once did over 2800 miles in 52 hours including a 3 hour stop for a blizzard to clear up - it was June!!! Gotta love Wyoming. (Admittedly, there were three of us driving).

Not bad...I did 1,025 miles in 16 hours, and I only fell asleep once while driving...when I woke up in the median I pulled over and took a nap. Other than that the only stops were for gas.

It seems like after you had to stop for gas you'd realize you were heading the wrong way.

You guys, you really shouldn't drive when you are tired. You could kill yourself, let alone other people. What you did there elf, was really dangerous. Do you want to get killed? You should take regular breaks. If you start feeling tired, open the window, if that doesn't work, pull over. DON'T JUST KEEP DRIVING!!

That is why you should not people with dementia go driving around to the store by themselves.

On another note, I loved it when I live in England. I grew up in texas and when I look at a map and see an inch I think it is going to take a good hour to travel that distance. Then I went to england and everything seem 15-30 minutes away. Although it would have been quicker if they could build straighter roads. Oh and I drove 1,800 miles in 20 hours. Mountain Home, ID to Dallas, TX. And I did it with a cat in the car the whole time.

I realize it was dangerous...I wasn't arguing that. I just wanted to make it without having to stop. I did end up stopping though, and I did it without hurting anyone...even myself! so HAH!

nah I'm still quite alive. That happened over a year ago...I'd gladly do it again, but only if I had someone with me this time. It gets SO boring driving that long with no one to talk to.
