Philly's top cop vows action against drag racing in police car

An Internet video that appears to show a Philadelphia police cruiser in a drag race on city streets has Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson angry.
He says he will find out who was behind the wheel of that police car and take action against the officer. Johnson says drag racers aren't just risking their own lives but those of people on the streets. He says officers should be breaking up drag races, not participating in them.
This isn't the first video of Philadelphia police officers to draw attention on the Internet. Just last week, a video showing officers covering another officer's car with toilet paper got widespread viewing. Internal Affairs concluded that one was a harmless prank.

He wasnt racing another car though. He might of just been pulling away fast.

Down here we have something called "Beat the Heat" where the little ricer brats can race their Hondas against Police Interceptors.

Just look at this Evo from a cruise near where I live.

They both look sweet :) Sure to beat any modern cop car these days.

In years past, cars like the one I drive now were used a police cars. No engine mods were needed.

When I bought the car it didn't have the silver Slicer rims, just standard black. When the cheapass wheelcovers gave out I tore them off and went with just the black. People thought I was in a police car all the time!

carsey We had the same cop car up here. The police at our Local cruise site used it. Heres some pics

No engine mods are allowed, Just a stiffer Suspension to carry all the equipment.

Its wierd seeing cops in evos. I think everyone will stop now, because its hard to outrun a evo

Its hard to outrun Anything from the police.

If you can outrun the car, you cant outrun the helecopter/Radios. The Volvo 850s that they use are very quick too, along with the Mercades.

Ahh The man himself... GhostRider. What an amazing person that was. His Videos are Beyond Extreme. I dont know how he was never caught! He actually tormented the police, just to show us that he could evade them lol

It did sound like he was racing someone, if you listen you can hear some ricer with a fart can taking off at the same time.

Here in NY, we use several vehicles. Crown Victorias, Tahoes, Impalas, Intrepids, Camaros, Caprices, Luminas, Chargers, etc etc etc.

Many of them feature upgraded suspension, cooling, and charging systems.

yeah down in VA we have some confiscated Rice cars to get some kids busted. thers a black undercover cop in a mitsu eclipse with a fart can and all the goodies turboed etc. and a golden camaro and also a black one. and a confiscated e36 bmw m3
