SCIENTISTS have gone barking mad over this cat — which appears to have had PUPPIES.

Owner Cassia Aparecida de Souza says her moggie Mimi got pregnant after mating with a neighbour’s dog.

Cassia, 18, says Mimi had a litter of six babies — three cat-like and the rest looking like dogs.

The cat creatures died after the birth in Passo Fundo, Brazil, but the doggies survived. Geneticists are testing blood samples. Unlikely hybrids have happened before but always between closely related species.

Hercules the “liger” followed an encounter between a male lion and a tigress.

And a “wolphin”, half killer whale and half bottlenose dolphin, also exists.

***!! That's just weird... That cat (and dog) obviously aren't with the program... Dogs and cats are supposed to hate each other... I wonder if those things will survive till adulthood, what would they act like? A barking and purring cat-dog?

That seems a little to strange. I wish it had some more information than that. I know that species with close cromoson counts can mate. I.E. Horse w/ 64 and a donkey w/ 62 = a mule w / 63. But a dog has 78 and a cat has 38.

I agree, If that were the case, there would be more of them. And not to gross anybody out, but a tom's anaotmy is barbed which helps to inpregnante a queen.
