I knew about some of this from reading secret docs about the Cuban Missile thing when I was in the Air Force. But there was a lot more going on than I knew about.

I am sure all of this was big time classified until just a few years ago.The military hates to admit they make these kind of mistakes.

Combine this with the mistakes that I'm sure the Soviets made, and we're pretty lucky to still be around. I guess we had some cool-headed individuals nearby that button.
