Intel Announces QuadCore Processor

AMD already had announced quad-core if I remember right. Of course, the high-end Intel chips are faster, but AMD has done it before and I can see them doing it again.

I'm positive AMD has a trick or two up their sleeves. Or rather a plan. They won't allow their noses to grind.

I'm sticking with AMD no matter what. I'm sure they have something up their sleeve.

AMD very well could have a trick or 5 up their sleeves. They are a good company! The one thing that Intel has right now is price v. performance since you can buy Intel E6300 for $180 and it performs NEARLY as well as AMD X2 4600 at $280. Plus it can overclock better. I am an AMD fan also, but I currently have an Intel in my lappy. I've gotta say, who ever has the better processor when I build my next computer will get my purchase. My focus is more on who makes a better GPU than CPU.

I second that. If I were to build a new PC right now, I would choose the new Core 2 Duo.. If I were to build a new PC in Dec, I would choose the Quadro.. If I choose to build a new PC a year or so from now, I would probly chose that 80 Core monster that Intel is protoyping!

I hope AMD comes out with something competitive other than price drops. In the end it means more bang for your buck for all of us.
