Evangelist drowns trying to walk on water

An evangelist who tried replicating Jesus' miracle of walking on water has reportedly drowned off the western coast of Africa.

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle, and he attempted it from a beach in Gabon's capital of Libreville.

"He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus," an eyewitness told the Glasgow Daily Record.

"He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back." .................

OMG!

I wouldn't put it past some of those fanatics. I fancy myself a good christian, but come on! Who really thinks they are that close that they can walk on water?

Hmm... That is just plain stupid.
I bet when Jesus did it, he secretly had stones or wood there.
I wouldn't trust what some random people said, and being passed on over 2000 years, hmm...

If you lot think there is a 'God', then why doesn't it prove it? I would have a damn big go at it if there was one...

I like 'Life of Brain'. Hehe.

My friend tells me that Private Ryan (from 'Saving Private Ryan', which I've never watched) is too stupid to know the laws of gravity, life, and death.

Anybody seen the Godfellas episode of Futurama? The last line is 'When you've done things right, nobody will be sure you've done anything at all.' This brings up a good point, if there was a God (and I don't believe there is, although I don't know that) there would be no way of proving it because His influence would be so subtle.

Right, Ok, so if all you guys and girls here think there is a 'God', you believe I am going to hell then yeah? Even though I am a decent person. So, why not save people like me from going to hell, but proving that it exists?
And I would have thought, if there was a 'God', then why would he want you to pray? Surely if it knows everything, then it would know what you need, and if you are a good person, it would give you it? And while praying, instead of praying, you could be helping out the world, by giving to charity?

Think about it first, and then post back with your views.

i believe in God, but don't think you are going to hell. and as for praying, what good father is going to just give good things to his children without making them ask for it? that and like your father, i'm sure He likes it when we talk to Him.

OK, fair enough. Thanks.
Though what about the people who do think I am going to hell? Is there anyone here who does think I am going to hell?
I know one of my sisters friends thinks my sister is going to hell, not sure why they are friends but anyway...

One other thing I would like to ask about: Why do people thank 'God' for proving a meal for them? When, like for me, my dad works damn hard to get money, for food, and other things.

I work hard to provide for my family. I am thankful that God has given me this ability. I am alos thankful for my family, which we work very hard to keep. Twin boys isn't the easiest thing in the world. Fox's parents must be pretty patient.
